Hunter College is located between 68th and 69th St, in an area
bounded by Park Ave. on the West and Lexington Ave. on the East.
Room 714 West is located on the 7th floor of the West Building,
entrance to which is on 68th St. Come in the 68th street entrance to
the main Lobby, go up seven flights on the escalator to the Room
714 auditorium.
By Subway
The #6 train
stops directly under the College at the 68th Street Stop. Major
transfer points for the #6 train are: 14th Street-Union Square, 42nd
Street - Grand Central, 51st Street & Lexington Avenue, and 59th
Street & Lexington Avenue. There is an entrance to the college in
the Subway station.
By Bus from Manhattan
Take the M66 bus goes cross-town
on 68th street going east and 67th street going west. Consult a
Manhattan Bus map for transfer points to the #6.
By car
A very bad idea: New York City is not
car-friendly, and garages in the area are prohibitively expensive.
Use buses or taxis. Some West Side garages (e.g. Lincoln
Center have “early bird” specials ( $10: in before 10:00 AM, out by
6:00 PM)
From LaGuardia Airport
Exit airport heading east on the Grand
Central Parkway. Take the Parkway to the Long Island Expressway
(LIE) heading west. Take the LIE to the Midtown Tunnel.
Upon exiting the tunnel follow signs towards "Uptown" (heading
west). Continue west to 3rd Avenue. Make a right onto 3rd Avenue.
Take this avenue to 69th Street. Make a left onto 69th Street.
Hunter College is on the left-hand side between Lexington and Park
Avenue.
From John F. Kennedy Airport
Exit the airport heading north on the Van Wyck Expressway. Take
this to the Long Island Expressway (LIE) going west. Take the LIE to
the Midtown Tunnel. Upon exiting the tunnel follow
signs towards "Uptown" (heading west). Head west to 3rd Avenue. Make
a right onto 3rd Avenue. Take this avenue to 69th Street. Make a
left onto 69th Street. Hunter College is on the left-hand side
between Lexington and Park Avenue.
From Newark Airport
Take the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95 North) to the Lincoln Tunnel
Exit. Upon exiting the tunnel, follow signs for
"Uptown". At the last light make a right onto 42nd Street (there
will be a parking garage in front of you). Take 42nd Street east to
3rd Ave. Make a left onto 3rd Avenue. Continue north on this avenue
to 69th Street. Make a left onto 69th street. Hunter College is on
the left-hand side between Lexington and Park Avenue.
